Outside our window, there is an enormous old magnolia. We moved in in the winter, after many years in the city, and had no idea what was in store for us. Imagine our surprise when we saw its display for the first time. And imagine our dismay when we figured out that the annoying plant crawling up the side of our house was a very old wisteria--after we chopped it down. I've planted wisteria upstate, but the garden gods are still punishing me for that travesty, and my young wisteria has not yet produced flowers.
It's just beginning to bud. It's quite beautiful when it's in full bloom.
The color of the alpine lace scarf, which is looking like it will be finished at just about the time that the magnolia blossoms. Almost too much beauty to tolerate in one place....
